Twin Falls

Twin Falls (AKA Reedy Cove Falls) is one of our favorites. Before falling over a 70 foot bare granite face it splits in two, thus the name. The left, and larger, split falls freely the entire height, while the righthand split (barely visible in this picture) tumbles down and around numerous ledges on its way through the rocks. Both falls combine in a large pool at the base, then tumble over more boulders on their way down the valley.

The falls are located way up the picturesque Eastatoe Valley east of Lake Jocassee, a valley of small farms and modest homesites along the wandering Eastatoe Creek. You have to drive through people's yards to reach the trail, then walk perhaps 15 minutes in the woods along the rocky, gurgling stream til you reach the opening at the falls.

Note the people standing at the base of the main fall, to the left, in the first picture.

This second picture shows more of the rocks just downstream. That's nextdoor neighbors Jack & Pat Postle in the foreground shade.

And this picture shows the main fall more closely. That's Dave's sister Janet, her husband Sid and their daughters Katrina and Laurel, standing at the base.
